Rodney Dawson, 54, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at his residence. He was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, a member of the PKC Coon Hunting Association, and a member of the Local Carpenters Union. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed attending Tennessee walking horse shows. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Thursday, January 20 at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Friday, January 21, 2011, at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, officiated by Bro. William Burcham and Bro. James Herman Gray. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnny Lee McVay, Tim Randle, Steve Roberts, Richard Wood, George “June” Brimingham, and Donnie Coley. Honorary bearers will be Kim Dawson, Lyman Hill, Jr., Dr. Scott Seagers, Doyle George, Tommy Nunley, Brandon McCool, Jessie McDuffy, Troy Riggs, Wayne Phifer, Chester Blakney, Jerry Comer, Danny Medley, Tim Medley, Anthony Medley, Joey Medley, Eli McDuffy, Mike Tidwell, Don Starling, Randle Jourdan, Jimmy Morgan, Danny Carr, Terry Dawson, Mike Hebert, and Bro. Tim Dixon. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dawson of Tishomingo; 2 sons – Kevin Dawson (Coral) and Derek Dawson, both of Tishomingo; 2 brothers – Shawn Dawson (Brenda) and Jody Dawson, both of Iuka; 1 sister – Vicki Meyers (John) of Hernando; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Robert Stivers (Honey) of Strickland, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Janice McVay Dawson; his sister, Regina Dawson Haman; and an infant daughter.
