Irene Barnes

Irene Barnes, 89, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, February 19, 2011, at her residence. She was a member of Snowdown United Methodist Church. She was an avid historian and enjoyed researching genealogy for herself and others. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Sunday, February 20 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Monday, February 21, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Dale Hathorne. Interment will follow in Snowdown Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jeff Harold, Jeff Butler, Tommy Frederick, Johnny Rhodes, Don Farrar, and Don McNeely. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 son – Danny Barnes (Joyce) of Iuka, MS; 1 daughter – Delores Smithhart (Tommy) of Jackson, MS; 3 grandchildren – Julie Huggins (Jason) of Collierville, TN; Lisa Russell (Scott) of Asheville, NC; and Sara Smithhart of Austin, TX; and 2 great grandchildren – Emma and Olivia Huggins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Barnes, and her parents, W.F. and Julia Biggs Mars. Memorial contributions may be made to the Snowdown Cemetery Fund.
