Jimmy Wayne Marlar, 67, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Friday, September 30, 2011, at Magnolia Regional Health Center - Corinth. He was a member of Burnsville Church of Christ. He was a transport officer for the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department of many years, and loved spending time with his family. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Saturday, October 1 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rick Jones. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Pallbearers are Russ Kessinger, Bill McElrath, Glen Whitlock, Benny Parrish, Ricky Marlar, and David Wooley. Honorary bearers are Loren McKee, Jeff Yarber, Amos Bates, Russ Robinson, Dewey Overton, and the employees of the Tishomingo County Sherriff’s Department. He is survived by his wife of 50 years on November 4, 2011, Betty Marlar of Iuka; 2 daughters – Jan Anglin (Timmy) and Michelle White (James), both of Iuka; 4 grandchildren – Stephany Grimes (Josh), Andy Anglin (and fiancée, Devin Reader), Adam White (and fiancée, Sara Savoy), and Meghan White; 2 great grandchildren – Tyson and Logan Grimes; 2 special nieces – Kim Kessinger (Russ) of Niceville, FL and Pam Horner (Ronnie) of Michie, TN; and special friends – Bobby and Judy Walker of Iuka and Katie Jourdan of Iuka. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Ada Marlar; his brother, Kenneth Marlar; his granddaughter, Kelsey Anglin; and his niece, Misty Vickery.
