Joyce Grisham Peterson, 94, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. She attended Harmony United Methodist Church. In her early life she enjoyed the company of her many Dean and Grisham cousins, and had fond memories of her days as a telephone operator in Pascagoula where she met her husband at a USO dance. In recent years, she enjoyed the visits of her great grandchildren, watching Wheel of Fortune, and keeping track of the latest weather developments. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 7 PM on Saturday, June 9 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Ronnie Goodwin. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sean Peterson, Eric Peterson, Charles Emmons, Russ Robinson, Stan Pearce, Dean Pearce, Tommy Hayes, and Marty Davis. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 son – Gary Peterson (Shirley) of Knoxville, TN; 1 sister – Maida Grisham of Iuka; 2 grandsons – Sean Peterson (Genene) and Eric Peterson (Rachel); 4 great grandchildren – Ashton Peterson, Chloe Peterson, Mia Peterson, and Corbin Peterson; and a special caregiver, Ailene South. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clifford Peterson, originally of Gilchrist Township near Glenwood, Minnesota; her parents, Marshall and Ivy Dean Grisham; a daughter, Rita Peterson; a brother Ledgie Grisham; and a sister in law, Katie Mae Ramsey Grisham. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony United Methodist Church Fund or Cemetery Fund.
