Mary Elizabeth “Polly” Thorne Booker, 85, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center. Mrs. Booker was born on April 7, 1929, and spent her childhood in Burnsville, MS. She spent her adult life as a member of the Eastport community in Iuka. She was a faithful member of Eastport Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 28, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Sean Glidewell. Interment will follow in Eastport Cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnathan Booker, Joshua Cummings, Brad Booker, John White, Clint Wilmeth, and Benny Phifer. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include two sons, Johnny “Rickey” Booker (Laura) and Terry Booker (Peggy), and one daughter, Patsy Wilson (Don), all of Iuka; one brother, Luther “Coot” Thorne (Stella) of Westland, MI; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bessie Daniel Thorne; her husband, Clearance “Doody” Booker; one sister, Reba Franks; and five brothers, Spencer “Slip” Thorne, Allen Thorne, Craig Thorne, Sidney Thorne, and Roy Thorne.
