Bettie Weaver Balentine, 70, of Iuka, MS, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mrs. Balentine was a long time member of Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, and was employed at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in the dietary department. She loved growing flowers, cooking, reading, and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. W. H. Burcham and Bro. Tim Hisaw. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers include Abe Weaver, Gary Bolton, Jody Dawson, Joe Walker, Duane Burcham, and Tyler Burcham. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by two sons, Keith Balentine (Renee’) of New Albany, and Kevin Balentine (Cindy) of Shiloh, TN; one daughter, Patricia Hester (Mike) of Booneville; three brothers, Paul Weaver (Lily) of Corinth, John R. Weaver (Lori) of Iuka, and Delbert Weaver (Chrissy) of Cape Girardeau, MO; two sisters, Alice Cornelison (Joell) of Florence, AL, and Pansy Blaylock (Larry) of Iuka; and six grandchildren, Raygan Balentine, Savanna Balentine, Jacob Balentine, Amber Balentine, Kara Balentine, and Elijah Balentine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Balentine, Jr.; her parents, John H. and Elzadah Dennington Weaver; a brother, Jerry Cox; and a sister, Judy Beth Weaver.
