Charles Lee Biggs, 79, of Bartlett, TN died Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Methodist North Hospital in Bartlett. Charles had suffered several years with heart problems and recently suffered from pneumonia, which he could not recover.
Charles was born in Iuka, Mississippi on September 21, 1946 and would have celebrated his 80 birthday this year.
Charles graduated from Iuka High School in 1964, served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam and Germany. He served in the Military Funeral detail until he was out of the Service and then worked at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Later he went to work with Southern Railroad and later retired from Norfolk Southern after 36 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners International.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Bartlett Hill Baptist Church where he and Joan were very active members. Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Bartlett will be in charge of arrangements.
Charles was much loved by his family and those who remember him, especially those he worked with at Cutshall Funeral Home. He worked hard his entire life, and will be remembered for his kindness and compassion for people. He especially loved his uncles Jake and Johnny, who loved to pick on him as he was the first grandchild in the family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan Cooper Biggs; one brother, Gary Biggs of Corinth; and three sisters, Linda Stricken (Tommy) of Arkansas, Catherine Norman (Joe) of Tupelo, and Martha Biggs of Iuka; and his nieces and nephews, Kimberly Lee (Jeff), Heather Burton (John), Chad Norman (Julia), Jeremy Biggs (Jill) Tyler Biggs, Matthew Biggs, Mary Ashley Biggs, and Charlie Beth Biggs, and several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Euna Mae Biggs, his younger brother Larry, who died in December of 2025, his grandparents, Oscar Lee and Mary Ruth Curtis and Charlie and Blanche Biggs.
