Cynthia M. Barnett passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 27, 2026. She was born on March 18, 1940, in Blytheville, Arkansas. 

Cynthia will be remembered as a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed softball and basketball, and she earned recognition as an MVP in basketball. She was a member of the Iuka Jaycettes and also served as a cub scout leader, giving her time and energy to others. Cynthia was a talented seamstress who enjoyed crafts and drawing, and she was known as a gifted artist. She also found joy in cooking and baking, and she loved shopping.

Her life reflected creativity, involvement, and a love for both family activities and personal talents. Whether through sports, community participation, or the many skills she practiced with her hands, Cynthia left a lasting impression on those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clinton Barnett; her children, Allen W. Barnett, Stacey Lynn Barnett Hyde (Brian), Stephen B. Barnett (Missy), and Shannon D. Hopkins (Tony); her grandchildren, Wesley Barnett, Mary Barnett, Jennifer Williams (Jason), Benson Teeler, Avery Barnett (Brylee Kate), Alex Barnett, Michael Moore (Kristen), and Zach Moore; her great-grandchildren, Dylan Barnett, Marley Barnett, and Rylan Anderson Williams; and her siblings, Barbara Stalcup and Jackie Latch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Wayne and Lucille Mooney Young; her brother, Gerald Wayne Young; and her sister, Geraldine Davis.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service for Cynthia M. Barnett will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, 2197 Mississippi 25, Iuka, MS 38852. The service will be officiated by Elder James Perry.

Cynthia will be remembered with love and appreciation for the many ways she shared her gifts, her time, and her spirit.
