Alice Diane "Nanny" Holbrook, 68, of Iuka, Mississippi, formerly of Aberdeen, Mississippi, passed away on July 25, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka.
Diane, known affectionately as "Nanny," spent most of her life in Aberdeen, where she dedicated over two decades working at the ticket booth at Bristol Skating Rink. Her outgoing nature will be fondly remembered by many. She was more recently employed at Jamison Manufacturing where she worked for 16 years.
Diane’s greatest joy came from her family. She was blessed with four children, Carrie Borden (Jerramie), Troy Helton (Erica), Jan Patrick (Paul), and R. J. Cooper; and nine grandchildren, Tyler Borden (Haileigh), Madison Pruitt, Shyanne Borden (Alex), Kirstein Helton, Samuel Helton, Ethan Patrick, Maeley Patrick, Evie Cooper, and Eli Cooper. Holiday gatherings, especially Christmas, were treasured times for Nanny, filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of family coming together. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy "Dot" Bristol Hood; and her sister, Becky Clark Tyler (Budge). Diane is preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Lee Clark, Sr., and her nephew, Jerry Lee Clark, Jr.
Diane's faith played an essential role in her life. She was a cherished member of the Iuka First United Pentecostal Church, where she held her church family close to her heart. Her love for God and her kindness extended to everyone she encountered, as she never met a stranger.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. The visitation and funeral service for Alice Diane "Nanny" Holbrook will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Iuka First United Pentecostal Church. The visitation will start at 2:00 PM and continue until 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM, officiated by Bro. William Lambert, Bro. Terry Harmon, Brian Grissom, and Bro. Luis Terrazas. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen. Pallbearers include Mason Winters, Anthony Hamm, Larry Freeman, Austin Borden, Corey Casas, Justin Casas, Austin Casas, and Bailey Casas. Memorials may be made to the First United Pentecostal Church Children's Department. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Iuka Hospital nursing staff and Gentiva Hospice for the care and compassion shown during this time.
