Glendon Keith Madden, a dedicated carpenter by trade and a beloved figure in his community, passed away at his residence on July 11, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on November 20, 1957, in Russellville, Alabama, Keith exemplified the virtues of hard work, care for his family, and a laid-back spirit that endeared him to all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Keith took great pride in his work, crafting a legacy that revolved around his skill and craftsmanship in carpentry. His hands built not just structures, but also a home filled with laughter and love. He cherished the time spent outdoors, whether it was throwing the football, playing basketball with his children, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature at places like Mineral Springs Park in Iuka or at his mother's house. Keith’s ability to bring joy was evident through his jokes and funny faces that always put a smile on the faces of those around him.
His interests were as varied as the seasons, as he found joy in puzzles with his mother, sports, Bible study, and spending quality moments camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Above all, he spent his life serving Jehovah and was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness.
Keith is survived by his mother, Shirley J. Sandusky Cagle (Billy); his children, Glendon Shane Madden and Felicia Sue Hayes (Jamey); his step-children, Lee Pittman, Athena Jones (Kenny), and Nicholas Pittman; and an adoring group of grandchildren: Christopher Yantorn (Brittany), Timothy K. Madden, Andrew J. Madden, Mariah L. Richardson (Andrew), Grayson Blake Simmons (Allie), Kolten C. Hayes, Kaylen J. Hayes, Jyllian Jones, Zane Pittman, Colleen Lashley, Tori Pittman, and Owen Pittman, along with several great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Michael Eric Madden (Jeannie) and Teresa Karen Greene, and a host of other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Coots Madden, his second wife, Joyce Madden; his father, Charles E. Madden; a brother, Randy C. Madden; and his brother-in-law, Roger Greene. Their memories will forever remain cherished in the hearts of his family.
Keith will be remembered not only for his hardworking nature but for the warmth he brought to his family and friends. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, the stories shared over gatherings, and the laughter that will echo in the hearts of those who loved him.
