James Larry Solomon, Sr.

James Larry Solomon, Sr. was born on September 21, 1942, in Iuka, Mississippi. He lived a fulfilling life, having dedicated 50 years to the Boot Industry, where he had the opportunity to work in various locations around the world. For 35 of those years, he was a valued employee at Genesco, contributing his skills and expertise to the company.

James passed away on October 12, 2025, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is remembered for his strong work ethic and the passion he brought to his career. Beyond his professional life, James cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his daughter, Courtney Solomon, and his beloved grandchildren, Helayna Long and Madyson Russell. James also leaves behind his brother, Earl Solomon, along with his sister-in-law, Donna.

James was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Christine Edmondson Solomon; his sister, Barbara Solomon; and his brother, John Thomas Solomon.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, on October 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place the following day, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Cutshall Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
