Jean Adair, 82, passed away on June 22, 2026, at Helen Keller Hospital. Born on September 24, 1943, in Mississippi, Jean’s life was one marked by kindness, devotion, and steady grace.

Throughout her accomplished career as a cosmetologist, Jean dedicated herself to helping others feel their best, combining skill with a warm and caring spirit that endeared her to countless clients and friends. Her gentle touch and attention to detail were hallmarks of her profession, and she is fondly remembered for the relationships she fostered through her work.

Outside of her professional life, Jean found immense joy in simple pleasures and meaningful pursuits. She was a proud member of Fifth Street Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship with others offered her great strength and comfort. Her commitment to her church community was always evident, and she will be remembered for her steadfast presence and generous heart.

Jean delighted in the beauty of nature, nurturing her love for gardening and flowers. Her green thumb brought color and vitality to her home, and she took pride in cultivating gorgeous blooms that reflected her appreciation for life's wonders. An avid reader, Jean cherished quiet moments spent with a good book, inspired by stories and knowledge from every page. She also enjoyed the lively atmosphere of yard sales, where she would uncover treasures both large and small, often accompanied by laughter and heartfelt conversations.

In every aspect of her life, Jean expressed warmth, resilience, and sincerity. She enriched the lives of all those who knew her and leaves behind cherished memories that will be treasured forever.

Jean leaves behind her son, Phillip Adair (Dana); her grandchildren, Kristen Wallace (Jarrod) and Blaine Adair (Laura Beth); her great-grandchildren, Pyper Burnett, Harper Burnette, Hudson Adair, Huck Adair, Annie Adair, Brady Wallace, and Macy Hanesworth (Scott); her sister, Judy Medders; and her niece, Crystal Lewis (Jeff).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Adair; her son, Tommy Adair; her mother, Berniece Coley (Charles); and her brother-in-law, Wayne Medders.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held at Fifth Street Baptist Church, 610 West 5th Street, Iuka, MS 38852, on June 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Bro. Tony Curtis with Sister Tina Curtis providing the music, will follow at the same location, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blaine Adair, Hudson Adair, Huck Adair, Jarrod Wallace, Dustin Dick, Anthony Curtis, Titus Curtis, and Caleb Curtis. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to FIfth Street Baptist Church in honor of Mrs. Jean. As we say farewell to Jean, we honor her remarkable journey and the lasting legacy she leaves in the hearts of many.
