Luid David Huggins, Jr.

Luid David Huggins, Jr., 60, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Monday, May 5, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. David was a devoted Christian that loved those around him and loved to make others happy. He was incredibly kindhearted, loyal, and easygoing. He was the type of person that never met a stranger and always had a great story or joke to tell to lighten everyone’s spirits. In his free time, David enjoyed listening to country and gospel music, singing, and doing karaoke. Most of all, David loved spending time with his family and friends.

David is survived by his daughter, Jessica Huggins (Jeff Poole); his mother, Anne Davis Huggins Walters; his sisters, Kathy Huggins, Donna Huggins Patterson (James), Glenda Huggins Waldrop (Shonn), and Bonnie Huggins Gamadanis (Mark); his brothers, Barry Huggins and Benji Huggins (Amber); several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Luid David Huggins, Sr.; his sisters, Sara Huggins Yarbrough and Tina Huggins Maxwell; and his grandparents, John Marion and Nona Mae Bascomb Huggins and Stephen Alexander and Annie Borden Davis.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, Mississippi, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Bro. Dwain Ard on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Pallbearers include Chad Walters, Tony Maxwell, TJ Maxwell, Billy Maxwell, Shonn Waldrop, and James Patterson. Honorary pallbearer is Lester Walters. Interment will be in Snowdown Cemetery in Iuka on Friday. Memorials may be made in David’s honor to Snowdown Cemetery.
