Mary Alice Grisham was born on July 6, 1964, to Clarence Elmer Grisham, Sr and his wife, Mary Helen. She lived in Iuka most of her life, where she spent as much time as possible with family and friends. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, and was excited to welcome her first great-grandchild, whom she sadly never got to meet. She would have loved to introduce him to her favorite places, her favorite things, and, most importantly, her stash of Sugar Babies.
Her joyful laughter was contagious and will live on in the memories of those who loved her, but it was never a laughing matter if you interrupted her while enjoying one of her favorite pastimes - reading a John Grisham crime thriller or playing Bingo Blitz. Kenny Chesney’s music could always lift her spirits, though, and she loved listening to him on her way to or from Tunica - where win or lose, the trip was always worth taking. Her love of life was evident to everyone she met, and her absence will be a profound silence for those who cherished her laughter.
On May 17, 2026, Mary’s time on earth came to a close. She leaves behind her two daughters, Amanda Grisham and Jessica Huggins Poole (Jeff); her grandchildren, Joshua Taylor Floyd, Hunter Taft Floyd, and Helen Mackenzie Edwards; her great-grandchild, Azmadeus Atreus Floyd; her siblings, Marie McLemore (Rick) and Barbara Ann Grimes; her grand-fur-babies, Journey and Smokie; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Martha Nell Grisham; and her brothers, Larry Joe Grisham, Buddy Mack Grisham, Vance Porter Grisham, and Clarence Elmer Grisham, Jr.
