Robbie Ray Comer, born on October 23, 1977, in Sheffield, Alabama, passed away at his residence on March 23, 2026. He was a devoted family man and a valued member of his community, known for his many interests and quiet strength.
Robbie dedicated part of his life to serving the public as a dispatcher for local law enforcement. Beyond his work, he was a passionate bass player who loved music deeply. His heart was happiest outdoors, whether hunting—especially duck hunting—fishing, with a special fondness for bass fishing, or simply enjoying time in nature by going to the mountains and the beach. Robbie enjoyed riding backroads and being outside, finding peace and joy in the simplicity of these moments.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Kiestler Comer; his daughter, Sara Brown and her husband Hayden; and his son, Collin Tyler. Robbie’s greatest pride came from his granddaughter, Emily Rose Brown, who brought immense joy to his life. His parents, Jerry Ray and Dyna Faye Comer, also survive him, as well as his mother-in-law, Sheila Kiestler. Robbie was cherished by his sisters, Amber Lambert and her husband Brandon, and Theresa Perini. He also leaves behind aunts Mary Lay Honeycutt, Linda Apple, and Sheila Rideout, along with uncles Leroy Chaney and his wife Sherrie, and Greg Chaney. A special cousin, Lori Smith, and a host of other cousins, family, and friends mourn his loss.
Robbie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frances and Alfred Comer, Sr., and Edna Chaney; his father-in-law, Harold Kiestler; his sister, Tammy Adair; as well as uncles Doyle Comer, AJ Comer, and Donnie Chaney. He also remembers aunts Rosa Lee Young and Wanda Roberts, who have gone before him.
