Sheron Rebecca Woodruff, 65, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at her home in Burnsville, Mississippi. Sheron was born on August 11, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, but she lived most of her life in Tishomingo County. She served her country with pride in the United States Navy, serving four years of active duty and four years in the reserves. She worked as an aircraft mechanic and was especially proud of her work in the nose of the airplane and as an air former. During her military service, she achieved the rank of E5 AMH2 and received a Meritorious Unit Commendation, a Navy Achievement Medal, and a Good Conduct Award. After leaving the military, Sheron continued to serve her country and community through her work in the defense industry, her favorite being the work she did as a “rocket scientist” with ATK.

Sheron was a member of Old Pleasant Hill Church in Iuka and thoroughly enjoyed attending services and church activities. She loved yard sales and thrift stores, and she found joy in simple treasures and everyday moments. More than anything, she was proud of her children, her grandchildren, and her dogs, Charlie and Lilly. Her home was always open, offering her children and their friends a safe place where they were welcomed and cared for, and she will be remembered for her service, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her life touched her family, her friends, and her community in lasting ways.

Sheron is survived by her children, Eric Penney (Bre), Jessica Penney (Ben), Patrick Ferrell (Sadie), Robert Ferrell, and Allen Ferrell; her grandchildren, Scarlett Penney, Irelyn Penney, William Wright, Ezra Ferrell, Alaska Lancaster, Trinity Ferrell, Ariel Ferrell, and Amber Ferrell; her siblings, Tanya Lambert (Mark) and Carol Spoon (Mike); her best friend, Dorothy Holder; and a host of other family members, friends, and pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Juanita Woodruff.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
