Shirley Lambert Walters, born on November 3, 1942, in Iuka, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, in her hometown of Iuka. She was a beloved woman known for her many talents and kind spirit.

Shirley was a person who found joy in simple pleasures. She loved gardening and spent many hours nurturing her plants. Canning the fruits of her garden was one of her favorite activities, preserving the flavors of the seasons. Her cooking was well-loved by family and friends alike, and she took pleasure in sharing meals with those around her. Besides her culinary skills, Shirley enjoyed reading and challenging her mind with crossword puzzles, always eager to learn and explore new ideas.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Walters, who shared many years of companionship and love with her. Her parents, Lawrence and Pearl Lambert, also passed before her time.

Shirley is survived by her children: Norman Walters; Michelle Bourland and her husband Jerry; and Sonja Waldrip and her husband Andy. She was a proud grandmother to Amanda Bowling and her husband Harley, Steven Smith, Stephanie Hall and her husband Roy, Kirsten Waldrip, and Dylan Waldrip. She also delighted in her great-grandchildren: Aiden Bowling, Abigail Shinar, Brantley Shinar, Jalen Carter, and Hailey Woodruff. Shirley’s brother, Billy Lambert, and his wife Mary, also survive her.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation to honor Shirley's memory will be held on April 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, located at 302 North Pearl Street. The funeral service will take place the following day, April 24, 2026, starting at 12:00 p.m. at Patrick United Methodist Church, 25 County Road 321, Iuka. Burial will follow in Patrick Cemetery. 

Shirley’s life was filled with the warmth of family, the comfort of home, and the satisfaction of a day well spent. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
