Tommy Thomson

Tommy Thomson, of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away on September 12, 2026, at Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. He was born on April 11, 1947, in Paris, Texas.

Tommy will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man who found great joy in the people and pastimes he loved most. He was a member of St. Peters Anglican Church and also a member of SAR. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting model trains, and traveling, especially on cruises and bus tours. He also enjoyed visiting places that were part of American history. Among the things that meant the most to Tommy were spending time with his grandchildren and being a doting husband to his wife. He also had a special love for animals, especially his pets and his grand-dogs.

Above all, Tommy treasured his family. He is survived by his wife, Janet Thomson, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He also leaves behind his children, Melissa Matthews and her husband Matt, Rachel Green and her husband Jason, and Thomas Thomson Jr. and his wife Kelly. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Scott Green, Houston Green, Bailey Thomson, and Layla Thomson. He also leaves behind his brother, Homer Thomson, Jr. Each of them was an important part of his life, and he took great pride in his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Braddock Thomson, and by his father, Homer Thomson.

Visitation will be held on September 16, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Counce Community Center, 491 Hinton Road, Counce, Tennessee 38326. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the visitation at the same location.

Tommy will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
