Velma L. Stover, 84, of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. She was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church and loved attending when she was able. Velma loved her family and cherished the time she got to spend with all of them, but especially with her favorite grandson, Rickey.

Velma is survived by her children, Lisa Jackson (Joseph) and Herbert Bonds (Toundra); her stepson, Alton Stover (Moya); her 8 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; her 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Virginia Pearl Seay; and a host of other loved family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Maudie Bell Mitchell; her 5 brothers; her 3 sisters; and her 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. A private burial will take place in Shady Grove Cemetery. Services will be held at a later date.
