Walter Edwin Fitzsimmons, son of Madison McAnally & Carson Fitzsimmons, was born on October 14, 2025, at 12:25 p.m., weighing 5 lbs. 11.9 oz. and measuring 18 ½ inches long. Walter has the most perfect features and looks like a perfect combination of his mom and dad. He has his dad’s chin, a head full of wavy light brown hair, long legs, and big little feet. He has his mom’s nose and cheeks, and we have a feeling he has her eyes, too.
We truly believe Walter was larger than life and is part of a greater plan. Since the moment his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles found out about him, he changed all our lives. He has impacted us in a way no one else ever could. He taught us a lot about life; he taught us that love is the only thing that truly matters, and that’s what we intend to do. All who love him intend to stop worrying about worldly things that do not matter and focus on being a light, just like Walter is.
Walter is also loved and remembered by his grandparents, Brandon Murrah McAnally & Paula Wigginton McAnally, and James Eric Fitzsimmons & Crystal Harris Fitzsimmons; his great-grandparents, Donna Murrah McAnally, Ruth Bonds Wingo, Helen Harris & Jerry Harris, and James Ricky “Pappy” Fitzsimmons (Robin) & Renee Thompson (Ronald “Bubba”); a living great-great-grandmother, Juanita Rinehart; his aunts & uncles, Sophie McAnally, Easton Fitzsimmons (Carlee), Cohen Fitzsimmons, and Addi Brooke Fitzsimmons; and a cousin, Navy Lane Fitzsimmons, daughter of Easton and Carlee Fitzsimmons. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Charles “Buddy” McAnally and Randle Wigginton.
Cutshall Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held at Iuka Church of Christ on Tuesday, October 21, from 4–6 p.m. A graveside service, led by Ben McAnally and Tony Brown, will take place on Wednesday, October 22, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Iuka. Pallbearers will be Easton Fitzsimmons, Cohen Fitzsimmons, Drew Fitzsimmons, Charlie McAnally, Edward Smith, and Jeremy Harris.
