Wilma E. "Pat" Embrey, 84, of Iuka, MS, a favored daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to all who knew her, passed away on October 9, 2025, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. Born on March 17, 1941, in Itawamba County, she was affectionately nicknamed "Pat" by her grandfather due to her St. Patrick's Day birthday.
Pat was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and she found delight in picking Buttercups in the Spring. She also enjoyed reading and watching Westerns on television. Her commitment to her faith was evident, having accepted Christ into her heart at the age of 14. She lived a lifetime dedicated to serving her Savior as a longtime member of New Salem Baptist Church, where she was also a former Sunday School teacher. She was retired from Wal Mart in Corinth.
Pat leaves behind her siblings: Thelma "Sis" Wynn, Carol Tomlin (Bill), Jim Embrey (Shirley), Linda Embrey, and Joyce Embrey, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erskine and Evelyn Gipson Embrey; two brothers, Erskine E. "Sonny" Embrey and Roy Embrey; and two nephews, Jimmie "Jimbo" Brown and Michael Brown.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS, is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 12, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 13, at New Salem Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Chuck Clark and Bro. Ron Norvell. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jason Brown, Ethan Sanders, Cole Tomlin, Bret Embrey, Bart Embrey, Edward Dennington, Tye Rutherford, and Logan Talley.
