Martha Farris Austin

Martha Farris Austin, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023. She was born in Tishomingo County on August 9, 1929.  She was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother.  She was the last surviving child of Martha and Albert Farris.  Martha is survived by her son Paul Farris Austin (Dustin Davis Austin); her grandson, Nathaniel Austin; and her grandchildren, Zoe Austin, Piper Austin, William Austin, and Stella Austin. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Jeffrey Austin, Sr; her son, Gene Jeffrey Austin, Jr.; and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Austin. She devoted many years working in telecommunications for AT&T and Saint Joseph’s Hospital. She was an award-winning quilter and has one of her quilts in the Smithsonian Institute as part of the 9-11 memorial. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, December 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Johnathan Speegle.
